Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Place Attachment Penghuni Permukiman Kumuh di RW 04 Kelurahan Kebon Manggis, Jakarta Timur
Abstract
RW 04 Kebon Manggis Village is one of the slum-area located on the banks of the Ciliwung River, Jakarta, that was targetted to be relocated by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta to flats. However, many of the residents refused the relocation and still chose to live in the recent settlements. This phenomenon can be explained through the concept of place attachment. This study aims to identify the factors that influence place attachment for residents of RW 04, Kebon Manggis Village. The factors of proximity, affordability, and social attachment will be tested for their effect on place attachment. Meanwhile, place attachment is measured through place identity and place dependency based on the Place Attachment Index. The research design is a questionnaire survey method with research instruments using a Likert scale. The sample is 100 respondents. The analysis technique uses multiple linear regression techniques. The results demonstrate that the factors of proximity and affordability have a significant effect on place attachment for residents in the case study area. The affordability factor has the greatest influence compared to other factors. This means that in a relocation program, the regional government needs to pay attention to the affordability factor of housing costs and the proximity factor to various facilities that the inhabitants generally need.
