Tingkat Sense of Place Penghuni Rusunami
Abstract
Amidst the limitation of land availability, the provision of vertical public housing (Rusunami) becomes a more sustainable solution to meet urban housing needs in DKI Jakarta. Sense of place is one of the elements in assessing the sustainability of Rusunami development. This concept is measured through place identity, place attachment, and place dependence. The purpose of this study is to identify the sense of place level among the residents of the Rusunami. This study uses Sentra Timur Residence, which was developed by a private developer, and Kebagusan City, which was cooperatively developed by the government and private developer, as case study. Data was collected by utilizing a set of questionnaires. The responses of the questionnaires were then analyzed by utilizing the second order confirmatory factor and scoring analysis. The results showed that the sense of place level was low in both the joint test and the case-by-case test. The sense of place dimensions that are considered important by residents are place identity and place attachment with significant indicators including the availability of the facilities and the location of the Rusunami. Based on these results, developers need to pay attention to the availability of facilities at the Rusunami, so that residents feel comfortable and are reluctant to move. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the location of the rusunami which is the main factor in choosing a place to live.
