Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources, one of which is coal. Coal remains one of the energy sources that plays an important role in supporting national energy needs. Coal exploration and resource estimation activities are necessary to accurately determine the mining potential and feasibility. This study aims to estimate coal resources in the research area located in Serongga, Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan Province using the donut polygon method. The data used include drilling data and geophysical logging data. The research stages include seam correlation between boreholes, determination of coal seam distribution boundaries, creation of donut polygons for each resource category, and the calculation of tonnage and average thickness. Correlation of 15 boreholes identified 2 main seams used to calculate the estimated resources in the research area, namely Seam S3 and Seam S4. The results of the study show that the average thickness of Seam S3 is 1.5 m and Seam S4 is 1.45 m. The total estimated coal resources are 2,254,679.08 tons for Seam S3 and 3,455,205.60 tons for Seam S4, resulting in a total coal resource of 5,709,884.68 tons.
