Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Open Office or Microsoft Word (*.docx) file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

(a). Manuscript Preparation

Below is a brief description of how to prepare your manuscript.

  • Use the new revised template in MS Word (*.docx) that can be downloaded via Kurvatek Template
  • We are using IEEE references style to prepare our manuscript, and the complete guide for the writing style can be found HERE
  • Sample manuscripts written in Indonesian and English versions with the latest revised template can be downloaded HERE for your reference.
  • To those who write a research paper, the minimum citation should be 15 references from 5 years latest and the selection references is prefered from reputed and indexed journals (Scopus or Web of Science).
  • Similar to above, who write a manuscript in the form of literature review, the minimum citation should be 25 references and maximum of 35 references from credible sources.
  • Figures should be prepared with high resolution (300 dpi). Figure caption is putted below the figure.
  • Tables should prepared in a MS Word and avoid to supply table in the form of image which is difficult to edit by the layout editor. Tables are prepared with 3 horizontal lines only. Table caption is located in the top of table.
  • The length of manuscript prepared minimum with 6 pages and the number of page should be even, for example, 8, 10, or 12 pages.
  • If the manuscript is written in English, and then the title and abstract in Indonesian is not required
  • If the manuscript is written in Indonesian, the first abstract should be written in Indonesian and then followed in English. There are title in Indonesian and English.
  • When citing multiple sources at once, the preferred method is to list each number separately, in its own brackets, using a comma or dash between numbers, as such: [1], [3], [5] or [1] - [5]. For example, "Scholtz [2] has argued that...".

(b). Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared and suggested present follow the structure:

  • Title. The title of the paper should describe research aims, method/model, and objective, without Acronym or abbreviation and no more 15 words.
  • Abstract. The Abstract has 100 to 150 words; No citation; No formula; State in the abstract a primary objective, methodology, results, main outcomes, and discussion, and the conclusions.
  • Section structure. Authors are suggested to present their articles in the section structure: IMRaD (Introduction - Method - Results and Discussion – Conclusion).
  • References. Expect a minimum of 15 references primarily with a minimum of 85% from reputable journal papers within 5 years latest.
  • The manuscript should be checked and edited by an English Language Editor (Proofreader).

(c). Manuscript Submission

This section introduces the procedure for uploading manuscripts/articles and the review process carried out in the KURVATEK Journal.

Steps of submission electronically of manuscripts/articles in the KURVATEK Journal is as below:

In the first stage, the author must register by creating account through http://journal.itny.ac.id/index.php/krvtk/user/register. Once registered, the author gains access to submit manuscripts/articles by logging in first.

In the second stage, the Author faces a series of submission procedures that begins with a start new submission ( Home > User > Author > Submission > New Submission). When the author to have an account, they can go to https://journal.itny.ac.id/index.php/krvtk/submission/wizard. Don't forget to input all of the author in your paper.

Furthermore, a series of processes must be followed by the author:

Step 1. Starting New Submissions. The author needs to check the submission checklist. Authors can also convey messages to editors via comments for editors. If it has been filled in correctly, click on Save and continue.

Step 2. Uploading the Submission. An article text files with extension (.docx) that contains text, images and tables can be uploaded via Submission File. A file submission is in MS Word (see template). Supplementary files such as plagiarism check results can be uploaded via Step 4 as attachments. After uploading the file you can continue to the next step: Save and Continue.

Step 3. Entering the Submission's Metadata. Add your co-authors or contributor (names and email) to smooth the publication process by clicking Add Contributor. The title of the manuscript/article, abstract is typed in the space provided. Click Save and Continue when finishing entry the data.

Step 4. Uploading Supplementary Files (if any). This is the space to submit plagiarism check results, or other files.

Step 5. If the entire sequence was passed correctly, information regarding the submissions that have been made will appear. To end this process, click on Finish submission. Furthermore, the progress of submitted articles can be seen at Home>User>Author>Active Submission.

  1. Must comply with the scope or theme of journal
  2. High quality paper with novelty
  3. No plagiarism and the similarity of paper can be maximum of 15% by Turnitin
  4. Papers are not under considered by other journals elsewhere
  5. Must comply with the Kurvatek template (formatting) and references in IEEE style
